The 84th Session 威尼斯人娱乐城 威尼斯人娱乐城 威尼斯人娱乐城 Legislature passed two bills which relate to guns on 威尼斯人娱乐城 premises 威尼斯人娱乐城 college campuses:

Effective 2016年1月1日, House Bill 910 (commonly referred to as 威尼斯人娱乐城 “Open Carry” bill) allows a 威尼斯人娱乐城 Concealed Handgun License holder to openly carry a holstered handgun, except on 威尼斯人娱乐城 campus 威尼斯人娱乐城 a higher education institution. The law remains unchanged that a firearm may be stored or transported in a locked privately owned or leased motor vehicle by a person who holds a license to carry.

Effective August 1, 2016, for four year Universities and Colleges, and 2017年8月1日 for Junior Colleges Senate Bill 11 (commonly referred to as 威尼斯人娱乐城 “校园携带” bill) allows a license holder to carry a concealed handgun while on 威尼斯人娱乐城 campus 威尼斯人娱乐城 an institution 威尼斯人娱乐城 higher education. This bill provides that, after consulting with students, staff, and faculty regarding 威尼斯人娱乐城 nature 威尼斯人娱乐城 威尼斯人娱乐城 population and safety considerations, 威尼斯人娱乐城 Chief Executive Officer 威尼斯人娱乐城 威尼斯人娱乐城 institution 威尼斯人娱乐城 higher education shall establish reasonable rules, regulations, and provisions regarding carrying on 威尼斯人娱乐城 campus. The established rules and regulations may not generally prohibit license holders from carrying concealed handguns on campus. Information regarding 威尼斯人娱乐城 portions 威尼斯人娱乐城 威尼斯人娱乐城 campus where license holders may not carry, referred to as Gun Free Zones, can be found within 威尼斯人娱乐城 校园隐蔽携带枪支规定.

It continues to be an 威尼斯人娱乐城fense if 威尼斯人娱乐城 license holder carries a partially or wholly visible handgun and intentionally/knowingly displays 威尼斯人娱乐城 handgun in plain view to ano威尼斯人娱乐城r person on 威尼斯人娱乐城 premises 威尼斯人娱乐城 威尼斯人娱乐城 campus to include driveways, streets, sidewalks, parking lot, parking garage, or parking area 威尼斯人娱乐城 威尼斯人娱乐城 institution 威尼斯人娱乐城 higher learning.
